I have anxiety, depression, and ADHD (all good things really do come in 3’s!), and didn’t know I had the latter two until I was 21 and suddenly failing all of my college classes. I had usually gotten high marks, so this was my ‘rock bottom’ and the wake-up call that broke me out of survival mode.
I was in a vicious cycle of burning myself out repeatedly until my body forced me to stop by getting sick (I got tonsillitis 3 times in the same year!).
It took me over 6 years of struggling with no answers until I was finally diagnosed and got the help I needed. #latediagnosisftw
ABOUT ME
Hola! I’m Maggie
I am a queer, neurodivergent psychology student recovering from years of extreme burnout as a full-time dancer, university student, and child caregiver.
(That’s way too many things to be doing full-time, and self-care was not on that list!)
I’m proud to say that I am currently thriving in both my studies and my personal life, which wouldn’t have been possible without learning about how my brain actually works and reverse-engineering my whole life.
Did you know it takes up to seven (7) YEARS for your nervous system to fully heal from burnout?
Neither did I, until I slowed down and started learning how to take care of myself properly.
My goal for this platform is to provide the support and resources I never had to anyone who needs them, while advocating to end the stigma around being anything other than neurotypical and increasing the understanding of the mental health challenges so many of us face.
Let’s leave the term ‘burnout’ behind!
My knowledge of self-regulation methods and my experience as a professional dancer have given me a unique set of tools I’ve refined to help you find balance and clarity using movement, that I can’t wait to share.
I would love to help you kickstart your journey of mindful movement full of neuro-spicy life hacks just for you!
